Knitting: November 2021

Here is a look at what I’m working on in November.

FINISHED

Almost finished but not quite. The test knit for the Rowan Hat is sooooooooooooo close to done that I’m putting it here in the finished section. The Rowan Hat features knits, purls and simple cables on a background of stockinette stitch. Perfect for a gift! The Rowan Hat is a quick and easy knit. Written in 3 sizes – Child, Adult S/M and Adult L. Cables fully charted and written. The sample hats for this design are knit out of Malabrigo Rios in the colors Lettuce, Frank Ochre and Ravelry Red.

ON THE NEEDLES

Pictured from top to bottom and left to right: Turquoise Trail Pullover, top-down worsted weight cloak, fingering weight shawl, Turquoise Trail Cowl in two sizes, the start of a new top-down tee design and a bright, bright pink Hot Chocolate Hat.

The Turquoise Trail Pullover test knit (Ravelry link) is going and I’ve pushed back the finish date for this one to January of 2022 in response to test knitter feedback. The sample pullover for this one (knit in my size!!!!) is out of Valley Yarns Charlemont (a very nice fingering weight wool/silk blend).

This top-down worsted weight cloak design is almost finished! As our days get shorter and chillier, I’ve really loved having this sample of my lap. I’m knitting the sample garment out of Knit Picks Simply Wool in a natural grey named Wodsworth.

I’ve made some progress on this top-down fingering weight shawl too. I’m knitting this one out of a fingering weight single-ply wool/silk blend from Apothefaery in the color Poinsettia.

The Turquoise Trail Cowl samples are finished in both sizes. The Long Version sample is knit in the same fingering weight Valley Yarns wool/silk blend named Charlemont as the Turquoise Trail Pullover in a different shade of turquoise-blue. And the Short Version sample is knit in a deep turquoise DK from Old Rusted Chair yarns. The cowl uses the same cables and “cabochons” as the pullover. These cowls are super fun and quick projects. The test knit for this pattern will start early January 2022.

I’ve also made some progress on this new top-down tee design for Spring 2022. I’m planning for the test knit for this one to start in late January or early February.

And I might be starting another Hot Chocolate Hat (Ravelry link) jag. Last year I made many, many Hot Chocolate Hats. I love this hat! Friends and family love this hat too…..so I actually only have two in the house for me right now. I’m keeping this bright, hot pink one for myself! If you don’t use Ravelry, here is the link to the Hot Chocolate Hat at Tallgrass Knitting (my Etsy shop). Stitch marker is part of the I Am Woman set from Tallgrass Knitting.

That seems like plenty for this month. I’m thrilled to actually have knitting to show you again!
