Here is a look at the new pieces I’ve added to Tallgrass Knitting (my Etsy shop) over the last month. I do a similar blog post every month or so for my knitting designs and thought it would be nice to do the same for Tallgrass Knitting. A while back I mentioned that there would be more fan girl items to come. I’m excited to share about some of the new bits here!
This month I added Scrabble Tile Bag Charm/Zipper Pulls! I had a lot of fun deciding which text options would make it onto these bag charms. In the end I decided to start with these 8: Knitting is my superpower, 2020: yarn, wine, coffee, mask, Willing to recite Star Wars movies, Cue the ’80s shenanigan music, Star Wars Geek, You can’t take the yarn from me (sung to the tune of the Firefly lyrics in your head if you’re me), Geeky Knitters Unite and Yarn + Needles = F*@#ing Magic Baby. Each option is available in red, orange, yellow, blue or green. And each combines a handmade scrabble tile pendant and a silver plated bail with a durable alloy metal lobster clasp on a swivel clip and a double loop jump ring for an extra secure hold.
Another of my ordered fangirl items finally arrived too! A larger and super sturdy Captain America Shield charm for Bag Charms/Zipper Pulls.
I added one stitch marker set this month too – a Lotus flower charm with pink and white glass beads. This one has a special meaning for me. The lotus flower is a symbol that has different but similar meanings across many different cultures. It is known as a symbol of purity, prosperity, rebirth, knowledge, life and transformation among many other things. For me the idea of transformation and growing into what you are truly meant to be speaks the loudest right now as I start on the path to become a certified Qigong instructor. I’m so excited to grow into this new part of my life! (This stitch marker set also gets bonus points because it is also very similar to a water lily and my Water Lilies Cowl is scheduled for release this spring. I love it when my stitch marker matches my knitting.)
And I’m so excited to be able to finally offer my Knitting Tool Kits packed with essential tools for your knitting!!! I’ve been slowly gathering just the right supplies for each kit over the last several months. I’ve also been collaborating with Sunrise Grove for these beautiful wooden needle gauges made exclusively for Tallgrass Knitting!
The Summer Prairie Knitter’s Tool Kit or Autumn Prairie Knitter’s Tool Kit each come in a 4 oz round tin with screw on lid and include:
• 1 wooden knitting needle gauge for needle sizes US 0-15 made exclusively for Tallgrass Knitting
• 1 retractable tape measure that measures up to 60″
• 1 daisy cutter yarn snip
• 1 mini crochet hook/emergency stitch fixer
• 1 straight blunt needle
• 1 bent blunt needle
• 1 tiny sticky note pad for flagging patterns
• 15 stitch markers (6 removable clip-lock stitch markers, 6 removable metal gourd markers, 1 Mini-set of 3 Stitch Markers)
• 1 kilt pin to hold the stitch markers (can also be used as a stitch holder)
The 4 oz round tin measures about 3.27″ in diameter by 1.1″ in height. Kilt pin measures 3″ in length. Knitting Needle Gauge measures 2.3″ in diameter. Colors of measuring tape, crochet hook, blunt needles, tiny sticky note pad, clip-lock stitch markers and gourd stitch markers vary with each tin and may not be the same as pictured. Crochet hooks vary between sizes 3mm – 5mm and may not be the same as pictured. I’m super excited about these kits because they pull together all in my favorite knitting tools into one compact, sturdy and beautiful tin!
