Knitting: Cowls Round-Up

As we slog through the end of winter here in the Mid-West, I find myself craving warmth and color and texture every day. So, I’m offering all of my Ravelry cowl patterns at 30% off on Ravelry from Friday, February 14, 2020 through Friday, February 28, 2020! No code needed. That makes this a good time to take a quick look at some of my cowl patterns. The last year was a good year for cowls for me – I released 8 cowls.

2019 Cowls! From top left to bottom right: Springerle Cowl, Sonoran Cowl, Eugenie Cowl, Neve Cowl, Neve Cowl, Springerle Cowl, Cafe Blend Cowl, Candy Cane Cowl. (2019 releases not pictured: Madison Bluewash Cowl and Tiffany Cowl.)

I love cowls! They are a great addition to any outfit. They are normally small projects so they are easy to take along as on-the-go knitting and a great way to use up luxury yarns. Plus being small makes them an easy way to learn a new skill like cables or lace or texture without the commitment of a larger project.

I like to wear two different sizes of cowls. So, many of my newer designs include fully written patterns for both a Short Version (to be worn up close around the neck) and a Long Version (longer for a draped-scarf feel). Both lengths add warmth and color and interest to an outfit in the winter. The Long Versions add the extra functionality of wearing like a long necklace as an accessory in the warmer months. Having two options like this in a pattern means that many of my cowl patterns give knitters two complete patterns for the price of one.

From top left to bottom right: Starry Night Cowl, October Cowl, Market Day Cowl, Shenandoah Cowl, April Cowl, Bletchley Park Cowl, Sedona Cowl, Beatrice Cowl, Spice Curry Cowl, Lily Cowl, Bolero Cowl, Daphne Cowl, River Cowl, Simone Cowl (free pattern), Springerle Cowl, Shenandoah Cowl. That’s a lot of cowls!

Plus I’m in the process of updating all of my patterns to make sure that every pattern I sell is up to my current standards. As part of that process, last year I updated my cowl patterns bringing all 21 of my cowl patterns into the new decade. And all of my cowl patterns on Ravelry are 30% off from February 14, 2020 to February 28, 2020!
