Random: Gratitude

I’ve been thinking a lot about gratitude recently. Part of that is being grateful for the things I have like a flexible schedule, time with my family, a roof over my head, electricity, running water, good hiking shoes, Konza trails nearby, the health to hike, our growing puppy and so on.

And part of that is showing gratitude to others! I’m so grateful to the knitting community for helping me build a career doing what I love! I’m grateful to knitters for choosing my patterns. I’m grateful to testers for helping me get my patterns ready for publication. I’m grateful to local knitters for support and community at knitting groups. I’m grateful to friends and neighbors and other creative entrepreneurs for encouragement.

To show my gratitude to knitters I’m starting a new Gratitude Program for my Ravelry sales. That means that I’m offering a free pattern of your choice for every increment of $25 spent in Ravelry sales. I’ve set up this coupon code so that past purchases definitely apply. That means that many knitters can use the GRATITUDE25 code right away!

I’ve set this up as a promotion in Ravelry and I’m including a short tutorial here to make sure knitters know how to use the code to get their free pattern(s).

The way it works is that once you’ve hit the $25 mark in Ravelry purchases, you are automatically able to use the coupon code GRATITUDE25. First, place your chosen pattern in your cart by clicking “add to cart” on the pattern details page.

Then in your Ravelry Shopping Basket click on “use a coupon code” before you proceed to “checkout now”.

Type “GRATITUDE25” in the dialog box that opens up for the coupon code and make sure to click “apply”.

If you’ve done it correctly, you should be able to see the coupon code in effect and you are ready to checkout.

Follow the same process once your Ravelry purchases of my patterns hit the $50 mark by using the code GRATITUDE50 and $75 mark by using the code GRATITUDE75 for your next free patterns. I’m so excited to implement this new way to show my gratitude to knitter’s as a thank you for choosing my patterns!!!

I’m currently working on different ideas for how to show more gratitude to test knitters and to my local community. Look for more information about both of those next steps in 2020.
