Stronger Together and Flatten the Curve Promotion

Well. 2020 kind of went off the rails quickly, didn’t it? I hope you are healthy and safe.

I’ll admit that I’ve had a hard time concentrating on designing and sticking to the plan through all the worry and uncertainty. It feels like I should be able to do SOMETHING to help. To that end our family is starting our third week of self-imposed social distancing to help flatten the curve and not overwhelm our medical resources, I’m checking with neighbors before I make my sporadic grocery trips to see if they need anything, I’m setting up Zoom Meetings with others to keep people connected, I’m learning how to substitute oat flour for wheat flour to feed my family, I’m supporting local businesses where I can and I’m trying to stay informed without letting the news completely shut me down.

And I’m starting a new promotion for knitters to choose two of my self-published Ravelry patterns for “free”. I put the “free” in quotation marks because I do ask you spend the money the patterns would have cost to safely support a local small business if possible. Small businesses all over are really struggling. That means supporting local where you can is more important than ever right now. So, please stay safe and be kind as we all try to find the new normal. And remember we’re all stronger together. This promotion will run through May 31, 2020.

Use the code “STRONGERTOGETHER” to get your first free pattern and “FLATTENTHECURVE” to get your second free pattern. I’ve set this up as a promotion in Ravelry. I believe you’ll need to check out 2 separate times to use both codes for your free patterns. To use the codes, place your chosen pattern in your cart by clicking “add to cart” on the pattern details page. Then in your Ravelry Shopping Basket click on “use a coupon code” before you proceed to “checkout now”. Type “STRONGERTOGETHER” or “FLATTENTHECURVE” in the dialog box that opens up for the coupon code and make sure to click “apply”. Follow the process again using the other code for your other free pattern.

As time goes on I realize that what I should also do is to keep doing what I have been doing – designing patterns that knitters love and can use to gain some sense of normalcy. With that in mind I’m trying to stick to the plan as much as is possible.

Please stay tuned for upcoming tests knits and releases. Until then, I wish you all health and peace right now. And the time to calm your mind with some knitting if possible.
